Buy my Saffire.....OR DIE!

Post by tjwett » Tue Apr 24, 2007 6:14 pm

I hate this thing. It works for 180 seconds and then sprays a shitstorm of digital noise for 30 seconds, and then works again for another 3 minutes. Maybe it's just my setup or it's allergic to me. I've called Focusrite and they told me they've never heard of such a thing. I've already moved on to a new card. If you're interested in it I'll ship it to you and you can try it and see if it likes you better and if you likey then you can buy it from me. PM me... OR DIE! mwahahahhahaaaaaaa  :) :(

what, so you're telling us that you've had it for more than the warranty period and now you found out it doesn't work? Send the sucker back to where you got it from for a full refund...

I still don't get why people do that, or why I always drink the milk anyway. :?

If you want to give it another try, check its settings and set all your buffers and sample rates to the same setting, if it can be done. Try it with ASIO4ALL too.

yeah i got it from GC and never even used it until after the 30 days passed. its still under warranty from Focusrite but i don't feel like paying to ship it to them so they can diddle it for a month and then send it back to me with a fuck you letter. i'm not even convinced there's anything wrong with the unit. i'd really like to have someone else try and have it work for them.

i have a friend who had a saffire in his studio.

Caught fire and blew his speakers up.

i would rather die than buy a saffire.

There is nothing like building good relationship with salesmen /store, the idea is, as valued customer or better friend, to get real information not just the salesman thing.
I asked the guys about Saphirre - " it rarely works, released too early- before getting it right , YOU DON'T WANT TO BUY THAT" They meant practical use not the specs which might be impressive.
I guess Ebay is your only option.

Not at all:

Return it, get it "fixed", it still doesn't work, get your money back. Easy, and doesn't bring a loss.

He already missed the return option.
My experience with the products that are shit by design- be it driver, wrong PSU or whatever - sooner you sell them better, you loose some money but not that much and save lots of time and nerves.
I didn't mean Ebaying defective product, AFAIK the Focusrites work with some computers- if you have the lucky components combination- but more often wont.
