There's a new update to this product, called the CE version. It's marketed for Cakewalk synths, but after emailing Galbanum, I found that it's basically the original 1800 waveforms, plus a new 700 waveforms, still in .wav format, so perfectly usable in Simpler/Sampler, and importable into Sytrus. If you bought the Universal pack, it's only a $9.95 upgrade.

The fact that this library was used for N.I.'s Massive wavetables speaks volumes.
I'm unclear as to why one would get the absynth version though, as wav files can be imported into absynth.

Also, how much space does this collection take up on the hard drive?

I believe the two versions are different...one is native absynth, the other is .wav. I don't think you can import .wav into Absynth, but I'm not sure. I know you can import the .wav into many synths...the Cakewalk synths for sure, Sampler, and Sytrus.

I haven't bought the CE version yet, but from a friend who bought the Universal version, the whole pack of 1800 waves is about 11mb. Single-cycle wav files are pretty small. I can't imagine the CE version being more than 15mb at most. No idea how big the Absynth files are - ask Galbanum.

You can import wav files into Absynth. I guess the advantage of the Absynth version would be that the waves show up as oscillator presets.

The total CE package is about 20mb.

Just edited my post after I checked the website, where I found that the absynth version comes in .gly format, which is specific to absynth. But you can import samples into absynth, yes.

And I was worried about the size because on the site it said something about being part of an 8gb pack under the history section, but I guess that was to do with something else of an earlier product. I was confused as to how the hell a single cycle waveform package could somehow take 8gb. Thought maybe they were bundled inside of some massive loops or something.

Well, that was a no-brainer. I already had the Absynth set, so $10 for 2,500 waveforms to use in Rapture and Sampler - sold!

Most of these waveforms seem to play much cleaner with Sampler's interpolation setting turned on, especially set to Best, of course. I was perusing the waveforms while viewing through a sonogram, and there is sometimes substantial distortion between the partials on many of these with interpolation turned off. They are clean as a whistle with interpolation set to Best. As noted earlier, some of the crazy UHF waveforms almost disappear with interpolation turned On, so it's sometimes worth trying them with and without interpolation.
