Help! (please) serious error has occurred..

Post by jamied » Fri Apr 27, 2007 10:20 am

Hi, firstly, thanks for reading this...

ok, after spending the night creating what I think is the best song I've ever made (well, it at least it has the potential to be...), I woke up this morning, tried loading it, and got a "serious program error has occurred, live will close..." message... I tried a few more times, and eventually managed to load it, then, when I went to close, Live froze and the same message appeared...

to cut to the chase, I'm running vista, which as yet I've had no problems with (other than the usual rubbish), also I'm running "dblue glitch" on one of the tracks within the song. I've not had problems with glitch before, however, when I was tweaking glitch last night, I had a few instances of Live crashing.

any ideas? have I answered the problem here already, i.e. is it a glitch and vista problem?

if so, can I remove glitch from my vst folder and everything will be ok? (please tell me everything is going to be ok!!!)

thanks

Jamie

i'e had some crashes with glitch lately, opening its GUI.
do you have some automap by any chance?
things i would try:
- delete Live's preferences file
- remove glitch from your VST folder
- reinstall glitch

Rename your vst folder so that ableton won't be able to load your plugs - try to remove the one(s) you suspect is causing live to crash. Rename your vst folder to its original name and see if the project will load. Repeat as many times as neccesary.
