Can you run Ableton Live 6 on a 900 mghz G3 along with reason?

Live on a G3?
you can but you hit ceiling very fast..
it depends on what you are processing..
using mainly vst's or just audio clips..?
your specs are not really recommended..

The minimum system requirements for Live 6 are as follows:
Macintosh:
Any G3 or faster (recommended: G5 or IntelMac)
512 MB RAM (recommended: 1GB or more)
Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later (recommended OS X 10.4.x or later)
live on g3
I use reason for drums and sequencing, and live for vsts. Right now I'm using a p4 1.6 with 382 ram. The mac has 640 ram and it's 900 mghz, but it's a g3. I just want a laptop so I can take my music with me. I just don't want to buy windows based laptops. Might as well make the jump to apple.

Re: live on g3
well Live 5 works on my pismo, (500mhz) 384 Ram, but only in the very limited way that the ram would suggest. Cant really do more than a few tracks without a lot of bouncing. Could probably run reason on it reasonably well, but both I think you're going to struggle unless you are always bouncing down.AStedraDJ wrote:I use reason for drums and sequencing, and live for vsts.
best thing to do probably is to try it.
