I want to have a few different clips on a track with a VST instrument, and set, say, the filter cutoff to different values for each clip.
It seems for this to actually work, I have to manually set the cutoff on the VST to the maximum value, and then the clips can set it anywhere below that.
However, if I twiddle the knob or anything, the clips now operate at percentages of the twiddled (lower) value, so I have to keep resetting it to max.
Do I have to manually set all vst params to max that I want to modify from clips, and always exert this effort to not twiddle and/or keep them at max after twiddling?
A related question is, if the clip is relative to the current VST value, why does it only do 0-100% of the value instead of also letting me *add* to the value?
I think I might be missing something. Help/tips much appreciated!
can clip envelopes only decrease (0%-100%) vst parameters?

you have just discovered the difference between relative automation (modulation) in the session view, and absolute automation (in the arrange view)... its a much debated topic on the forums...
