long load and save times

Post by shiba_dad » Tue May 01, 2007 1:13 am

I have a project with about 15 midi tracks, no audio , that all of a sudden is taking 10 minutes to load up or save. A previous version of the project (only a few changes different) loads up or saves in 30 secs. I could probably go back to the previous version and try to reproduce my changes, but I'd like to understand why this is happening. Anybody ever experienced this before or have a solution ? I noticed that the project file went from 1,300 kb to 6000 kb in size but I have no idea why ?

Thanks,
Dan

No changes or additions to plugins. Weird thing is, if I delete all the tracks on this project except for one blank midi track(no instruments or plugins or effects) , it still takes 10 minutes to save and is 5000 KB in size 8O .
Does anyone know how I can figure out what hidden stuff is in this blank project ?
My template project is 6 Virus TI midi tracks and one Battery 3 track with 6 audio outputs and opens and saves quickly and is only 205 KB in size.

There is something really screwy in this project that I would like to understand. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

might be worth sendin it to support and see what they make of it.
it's not something silly like a midi loop? theres definitely nothin lurking in a return or on the master? no hidden automation in arrangement view?

Thanks Clearscreen-- I found the problem. As you suggested it was a plugin gone crazy on the master track...Blue Cats Free Stereo Frequency Analyzer. I dont know what went wrong with it or why, but it took 15 minutes to go away once I deleted it. Maybe it had some accidental automation ?

Thanks :)
