Best place for 2nd hand music gear...
Ok team - I'm trying to get my hands on some 2nd hand music gear.
Any tips for the best places to look?
Specifically I'm looking for a new audio interface (currently looking at the firebox, saffire, mayeb an ultralite), and also looking for a good set of half decent mixing headphones (something along the lines of Grado 325 or Senn Hd600).
Any ideas where to look other than ebay?

www.analoghaven.com is a good place to check regularly. They may not have what you want right now, but its always worth checking.

people get burned on forum's too, a dude on vintagesynth.com bought a mc-202 a while back which was broken so he shipped it back to the dude who never refunded his money. a little dumb on his part for shipping it back but even still people do intentionally burn others on community forum's.nebulae wrote:NOT EBAY!
I've had much better luck on specific forums. Even though there isn't as much "protection", there's usually a lot more trust in specific forums where people are part of a community.
I've bought lots of stuff on ebay with absolutely no headaches. you just have to watch user feedback and don't buy from anyone under a 98% possitive feedback. if they aren't 100% then start reading their comments and find out why some of them are negative.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
youre lookin at it. right now. internet community forums. they ususally have the best prices for their own niche products. buyer protection is found with regular forum members who are known within that niche community.
want a used mac at a fair price? fuck ebay. get one on a mac messageboard 'marketplace' forum.
looking for a particular midi controller? fuck ebay. these forums are the best place to find one. just keep your eyes peeled.
best deal on a buttplug? ew. don't buy used buttplugs. thats nasty.
