i just tried this and it works

its damn neat but at the same time so odd that you can't click on the visual indicator that is relevant to the previews (the progress bar down the bottom).

It's a great way to totally fuck over your tunes and library

it's not explained in the manual very well

it's not easy to use

there's too many levels of screens in the file management windows

there are now ~8 different file types associated with Live

only Ableton has the ability to make Live packs, others have to make .als files to get the data into the library, rather than just making a .alp file

you do not want to manipulate files outside of Live, otherwise it gets confused

the 'find sample' routine is slow and rarely works (due to my ignorance of how the file structure works)

if you look at your library there's various files there, but only some show up for some instruments, as they should, how?

it's the single most confusing thing about Live 6, it's well beyond the fucked upedness of the little orange dot (I'm ok with the dot.)

I could go on but my hands are cramping.

I find project management well done, finding/replacing samples, the organisation of the library, etc...

and as I transfert projects over to my laptop, I make my own live packs with everything in it

to me that was a nice surprise of live6

a favorites tag, so when you find a loop or sample in the directory you can come back to it later

Bookmarks?

Renaming bookmarks rather then just seeing the folder path would be more useful though.

that gets cumbersome real quick, if I like 65 samples 25 loops and 15 insturments. with all those book marks i might as well search through thte whole directory again

Ever tried liveclips?
One folder with 4kb files linking to your samples...

never even heard of it.

I am 4 months into live, and the Scary part is I am just now learning what i don't know, I did n't know about 90% of the plug ins, add ons, and customizations.

cant u just play two audio clips on separate channels n assign them to A n B?

Yes in the sense that it would lead to the same musical result... BUT like all "work arounds" this is more time consuming (and requires an unnecessarily higher track count, including copying all the effects etc over to the second track as well).

In a live context of course that is probably the prefered way to crossfade audio clips/tracks, but when using Live as a studio DAW it is certainly not a very good substitute for having an easy way to arrange clips including overlapping/crossfading from one audio take to the next.

3 things:

1. Big clock view (into preferences)
2. bypass button on flying plugin window
3. change delay compensation system (disabled plugin with internal latency still produce latency !!!???)
