Live for recording VST FX changes in real time

Post by loquat99 » Thu Jan 31, 2002 7:00 am

Found a great new use for Live. As a real-time VST fx processor. Since most audio editors don't let you manipulate and record vst fx in real time when editing samples( except wavelab i think.) I've had to go through the time consuming process of changing parameters while recording in a sequencer which is a pain. However with Live just load in your sample, loop it a few times and tweak away. Simply record your changes live and bounce it to your audio editor, take out the best edit and throw it into your regular sequencer. Live is the shiznits.

Yeah I was thinking of that myself... the problem with me is that I can't seem to figure out how to record to WAV or AIFF as I'm tweeking. Do you know how?

you can do this:

1) solo the track that you want to record

2) set the audio-in on a blank track to "master out"

3) record onto blank track

4) trim new file on previously blank track

there may be a quicker way, but that's how i do it.
