Hi, I'm sure this is probably something pretty newbie, but I just can't figure this one out. I've been using Live for more than 2 years now (using v5 now BTW) with my band, but I've always used the Sequencer view to arrange tracks and sequences. It's worked pretty well, but I knew there was a whole side that I just didn't use because it wasn't really needed for me.
Recently, I've been working on some ideas in the Pattern view, where I've been coming up with riffs/loops and playing off them, making arrangement changes on the fly. One of them I'm almost to a point where I'd like to dump it down to a linear sequence, in order to record it with the band.
Is there a way to "record" the part changes in pattern view into the sequencer view? It's really easy to do this with the pattern sequencer on my Yamaha Motif, so I'm assuming that this function lives someplace in Live. I've thought about just copy/pasting individual clips from one side to the other, but there are a LOT of parts and that just seems really counterintuitive, especially with a piece of software that prides itself on being intuative.
Any ideas? I rooted around this forum using the search, but didn't really find anything yet.

so you don't have to arm any of the tracks?
Wow. So simple. I can't believe I never figured that out.
So I'm assuming that once you do that, it'll either do pattern or linear, depending on which view you have?

If you have the pattern view laid out the way you want, you can just press CTRL+A to select all the clips, then drag them to the arrange window. They'll retain the same spacial relationships.

how would that handle if, say, I wanted to play pattern 1 four times, pattern 2 one time, back to pattern 1, then to pattern 3, etc?Tarekith wrote:If you have the pattern view laid out the way you want, you can just press CTRL+A to select all the clips, then drag them to the arrange window. That's kind of what I mean by arranging. I know I can do straight copies of the parts over, but most of what I have in the pattern view are just repeating phrases (bass lines, percussion patterns, etc..). Any final melody/chordwork would eventually just go over the whole arrangement in sequencer mode.
