live meter usage 300%?

i have a problem where i can be running a proect for a while and then the usage just sky rockets and wont go back down even after stopping everything

I got that once, infact i think someone once got a 1000% + CPU usage once. Are you running loads of programs in the background doing cpu intensive operations? Then starting and stopping play? Thats what did it for me :D

no none actually. i identified it was a track that had a few different plugins in it. couldn't identify which plugin it was. it was either massive, absynth, or waves, or any of the live ones. no idea. had to export the track to wave and just ditch it.

It happened to me last year. I was (and still am) running a custom built PC with a P4 3.0 GHz, ass-loads of RAM, etc. I had about 8 tracks going each playing a seperate 24-bit sample, a couple of the built-in comps. Added a 3rd and it blew up at 800% CPU. Scared the crap outta me, I didn't touch the computer for days after. It's never given me problems since though. :?
