what antonio wants is possible... where he should be spending his time investigating is his RME drivers!!! As stated above when using an 828MkII you can simply unlink the 8 analog outputs in the driver, and then all analog outputs show up independantly in Live. Check driver settings.
Yeah or do it that way :)

Hey funny observation, if ever there was a time to ask a question and get answers...so many folks sitting twiddling thumbs waiting for that beta link....

Aside from LF management its a panning deal. You could have source in say 5.1 so all that is split like your talking of splitting stereo.

Yes true surround 'let me get my labcoat on...blah...' it is where you are putting material in a sound field 5 points, 4 points, 12 points, whatever.

I work in quad because I have no need of a center channel. Sub is dealt with post mix as a low end management issue. I may have a sub feed which will get added to the low end of the quads.

well, i still mix my music in stereo. How many people do you know that listen to music in 5.1??

now film is different, ya? and live is such a nice design and arrangement tool it would be very cool for this.

I have done some stuff in quad with live as well with fun results...
unfortunaly it involved borrowing monitors so as to have 4 of the same.
a good time was had, surrounding 2 guitarists w/ 4 matched (sort of) mics
I cant think of a sig

Before to aks in this forum I installed the last RME drivers but the "hammerfall DSP matrix" doesn't change its features. Anyway I think some people has to be quiet, this is a forum and not an arena

5.1 matrix etc. for film dvd authoring there are encoding issues but for music, its like anything else. Having stuff 360 degrees around you is quite a trip if its done well.

I've done a lot of work for people releasing surround disks and if you are remixing queens 'night at the opera' then you would be on Nuendo but most of the mixing/effects to redo that for surround (the elements) were not full 5.1 effects and hardware.

welp, it's been more like an areana of late and you happened to stumble in when the lions are VERY hungry.

don't sweat it. we'll all be too busy to abuse you soon.

RE: surround/quad/whatev in music.

yah, it surely can be cool. just usually not likely to be available. I have never played an event where multi channel audio was provided. I have gone gonzo and stuck a powered speaker or crappy guitar amp in the back of the audience and sent stuff to it very occasionally for effect.

Yea well lots of 'clubs' are still mono so whats to do...some day that will change. Depending on the venue you might bring your own. Hey Pink Floyd used to tour in quad too many years ago. Fripp tours in quad....
