routing audio to MOTU mx4 in live

Post by tief » Mon May 14, 2007 3:31 pm

Dear People,

Am trying to find a replacement for Antares Kantos (which can't be updated to OSX etc) - i.e., a software synth that can process live audio.

Have downloaded an MX4 demo but cannot get it to work - does anybody know what to do? (Don't understand how a midi instrument can process audio - the web spiel says this is possible, but mentions an input selection menu beneath the input gain control that doesn't exist and it is driving me insane...)

Or is there something else that I could use instead? Basically want to use a synth of some sort as an effects processor for my trombone.

Many thanks,

TIEF

You may have to hit a piano key (virtual or controller) and use latch?

I've used MX4 to process audio before, but unfortunately I recently sold it, so I can't load it to help you out.

Would love to hear your trombone through it tho!

Thanks Polyslax,
I'll try that tomorrow with the midi latch.
If it works I'll send you some processed bone!
cheers,
