mp3 problem in vista
mp3 problem in vista
im running vista and have been trying to get ableton to run ok on my system. the problem is that when i load certain mp3s it decodes them with tiny little dropouts and cuts in the audio. i have done a lot of tinkering to isolate the problem and have come to the conclusion it is not my sound driver, the warp mechanism, the version of the program, or the buffer amount on my audio ins/outs. i think it must be a codec problem but i have uninstalled and reinstalled quicktime and a cocktail codec pack to no avail. any bright ideas?

I run Ableton 6 under Vista
I don't use mp3s, I play waves.
I usually get some interruptions in audio while I'm playing live as DJ.
Just half second sometimes... but It's a very annoying situation. No way to fix it.
I use Vista premium, an Indigo I/O on a recent Toshiba Satellite.
Unfortunately I think the problem originates from Vista (the worst operative system ever made by microsoft) or from Ableton.
I've been using windows for professional audio applications without problems since the 95. XP worked perfectly... but Vista is a finger in the ass.
I'm in a really bad situation now. I don't like the idea to get in Mac...
