live audio loooping

i like that you can loop midi pretty easily on the spot with live.
but i cant seem to do it with audio tracks. i cant pre arrange the length and just record and go to the next tack. do you know what i mean? its not like with midi where i can just make a set length, record and go to the next track.

i have heard alot of talk about some sort of plug in loopers or something? can someone help me please. alot of people use max/msp for this type of thing but im sure theres a way to do this in ableton.im probably overlooking something.
