something simple that I can't seem to work out

Post by noisemonkey » Wed May 16, 2007 9:39 pm

hey dudes. I know this is a totally simple operation but I can't seem to use the computer keyboard to trigger samples on the impulse. I've read the manual about using the c3-d4 octave and stuff but when I press the keys the little green light indicating that midi signal is going in comes on but no audio comes out although the audio is routed to master. What am I doing wrong?

Up by the midi map button there is an icon that looks like keyboard keys. This should be on I believe if you want to play notes with your controller.

Where's the green light? If you replace Impulse can you play simpler or operator? If the track's record button armed? Is the monitor set to In? If you create a midi clip does that work? If you put a midi clip on the track does that work?

Have you set the MIDI track monitor to IN or AUTO with the track Rec enabled?

your keyboard is at the wrong octave, go up/down octaves with z and x on your keyboard
