KORG Microkorg, Cannot use keyboard to play Operator

Post by [email protected] » Thu May 17, 2007 3:56 pm

Hi

I am using a Korg Microkorg through an Alesis usb soundcard. I can use the keyboard as a midi contoller, i.e. trigger clips and scenes, but it dons''t seem to be working when i try use it as a midi keyboard. For example i can't play the synth of use it to play drum samples on impulse. is this a software problem?? i 'm getting midi data in on the top right hand side of the screen though.

Would be very gratefull if you could help me

cheers
joe

Hello,

You have to make sure that 'track' is enabled in the Input section of the MIDI Preferences, for that MIDI port you're using. Also, the track you put the instrument on should be either armed for recording, or its monitor should be set to IN.

To turn LOCAL OFF on the MicroKorg - otherwise the MK will play along!
