you're talking about the rack version, right? (if you've seen the key version for that price, buy without hesitation). i really like the nord sound, i think the nord leads are great bread and butter synths.

there's a massive difference between the G2 and the nord leads. the leads are (modeled) subtractive synths, whereas the G2 is a modular emulation. it connects to your computer and you can patch together synth modules like you would in a modular synth (and then some), and save them to the synth for playing later. it's a lot deeper than the lead, and more expensive (though the rack version is a similar price now, though it has no physical controls at all).

not really afaik. The 2x has more polyphony, more memory and you can store performances without the need of a memory card. They also upgraded the convertors so that might change the sound a bit, but the basic soundengine is the same.

The keyboard version is much better, the wooden pitchbend is a must.

It's a great synth.
I have it two years now and it's still nice to get weird sounds just by tweaking the knobs and make layers.

AWESOME SYNTH... Excells in morphing (they made it so easy)....layering...it's multi-timbral...polyphonic...fm... has a very distinct sound character....to me sounds very clean 'glassy' sound...although it does know how to growl...very nice as a drum synth tooo...no fx though...
quality build(i dropped mine several times still as good as new)...very light...
really really good for performing - cuts through any rock band...
and it's red..
good good purchase...just stick a stereo delay at the outputs and you're set!
