Does Live6 let you rewire VST in slave mode?

Post by enzymex » Sun May 20, 2007 12:33 am

I have Live 5, which does not activate VST's and VSTI's in rewire slave mode. You have to render your instrument tracks to audio in order to rewire them to another application for mixdown.

Has this changed in Live6? If not, are there better workarounds with deep freeze, etc.? Thanks!

what does this mean?
you cannot freeze vsts in live 6 and then rewire them to hosts like cubase?

You can't run the plugs in live. What you can do is load them in the Rewire Master and just use live for audio and midi feeds. You have to be creative about the use of these things. Still I can see that it would be much more productive to get a full implimentation of Live as a Rewire slave.

I don't think this a problem with Live's implementation of Rewire, I think it's a problem with Rewire. Is there any audio application that can host plugins when the application is a Rewire slave? I don't think so.

yes,
you guys are right.
just use the vst plugins in master host
or audio bouncing is ok, too.

Any rewire slave implemented to Propellerhead specs will do this. The ones I have licensed include Cakewalk Project 5, and Reaper.
