If you held out this long you can last. seems like the beta days are right round the corner - which means if you upgrade then youll get a free upgrade to 7. The sampler & live 6 download deal is sounds really good though.

Thank you Mike.
Skipping Six was always the plan.
But I was having a moment of weakness there...

5.2.2 right here - I'm a full time academic so the upgrade for me is like 39 million times cheaper

However, unfortunately, I just can't justify upgrading to 6 when 5.2.2 is doing the business

when I beta'd 6 I was so confused by the racks - I think I finally figured them out when the beta ended

Sampler is nice with the OSC thing <--> turns hard samples into cool new synthy type songs

but I already have enough synths and was more interested in a sampler that could do something with the 98 trillion .REX files I have - or take the slice information from a warped file and allow me to what I do in Reason to files such as those <--- no dice and they don't plan on changing that so...

I sold Operator a while back

so I can see how the sale looks nice to the non-academic but I just can't fade it until the program offers ME some stuff I'D BE EXCITED about

hmmm, also thinking - but to me it seems as 6 could need a few more updates before it could be considered as stable and fully implemented as version 3. Also Live 5 as quite some open problems - that does not make me reach out for more.
Gettting racks and sampler seems interesting though ...... Also the new filters for Operator (which should be free anyways). But then with sampler you have another instrument that only gets updated by a host update.

so if I would update now and get sampler I would want to update to Live 7 - so that makes it about 100€ more expensive ..... seems a deal killer ....

best

Yes, 5.2 here. Waiting for Ableton to implement TIME SIGNATURE CHANGES, dammit.

I'm on the L5 boat.

I am too paranoid and poor at the moment.

Amen, Brother.

I am sticking with 5.2 until this 'standard/basic' feature is added.

When I saw the 'What's new in Live 6' video, I distinctly remember think "That's it? I can import quicktime movies, but I can't do proper time changes?"

It's absurd.
