Mouse precision

Post by aMUSEd » Wed May 23, 2007 10:44 am

I've recently switched to using Live on my Laptop rather than my main DAW. However I'm finding that the mouse is hard to control in Live on my laptop. It seems to want to move too fats for me to get much precision and tends to jump from 0-9 in one go instead of smooth changes. Any ideas?

Also is there a way of increasing the size of the midi editor?

I think the problem might be me using Synergy to share the mouse but it doesn't seem to affect other apps.

For the mouse: Control panel->Mouse->Pointer Options. There you can adjust the speed of your mouse.. ;)

You can increase the size of the midi editor by clicking and holding the mouse up above the midi tab.. ;)

Thanks - no I tried that first. Thats why I guessed the problem might be Synergy as the Laptop mouse settings seem to have no effect on the Mouse while I'm using Synergy (maybe it uses the host settings but I tried to change those too and still no result)

That doesn't seem to work either - Synergy seems to make the mouse driver work in a space of its own.

Just tried this but all it does is increase the width of the editor which makes the notes seem even smaller - I want the whole thing to be bigger so I can use it more easily. It seems a lot bigger in the tutorial pics on the Ableton main site so it must be possible.

I usually turn off all that synaptic shit, as it can interfere with live performance in strange ways.

Also, look into a trackball for some serious precision, as well as small footprint when playing live

Yeah I have a Wacom tablet I can use as an alternative but I'd like to get to the bottom of this bug - I'm pretty sure its Synergy now - its affecting zooming too apparently.
