Okay now all this commotion has me curious. Hey Grobe, can you
recommend a good touch screen I could get, something that works well
with your software.

Is there a good video of this thing in action? All this bad talk has me interested in this project again.

Yes http://www.elotouch.com/Products/LCDs/1537L/default.asp
Its a .ittle expensive, for low cost, check on ebay, and i recomend any saw, or capacitive, non resisitive.
ANyway the elo 1537L its the more senisitve and have amazing presition, the all touch i tested is the best.

Here old video created from nice German guy:

http://www.myvideo.de/watch/472464

This video its old, and software not have lot of new feature and fixes, on the video you can see how in some moment he wnat drag a little balls red on 8 ball pad, and have trouble that its due on that version the balls are to small, now system have more big balls, aditional to that, he use resistive touch, and resistive are not good sensitivity for drag.
Aditional to that lot od new features are available on yhe software now, i have to prepapre better video, but i delayed that, when my unit its finisehd in few days i make more detailed video showing how work all, step by step
So better video coming soon.

Dam man that thing with one other good hardware controller to make sure you always had two things that you could tweak at the same time would make for a sick stage setup.

Grobe have you worked with any of the usb touchscreen overlays? I was looking at these things and it realy got my mind racing. http://www.touchscreens.com/products-addon.html

Any info would be great.

Yes i have one of that about 2 years ago, resitive, very cheap, one of that you can put over the LCD or CRT.
Work, but for drag the best its capacitive or saw, remeber that.

About that cheap, you need fix to the screen because if the touch move you need recalibrate again.
If want cheap one, try to buy one on ebay.

I really admire Grobe and think its lame for ripping on his engilsh and putting him to task to explain himself. Grobe seems honest and genuine, and passionate aboiut what he's doing. I elect Grobe over Bush anyday.

Hi folks,

At this place I would like to remind you of our forum rules and I ask every forum member to be friendly and respectful.
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34944
We second the opinion that initial posting in that thread is a bit "over the top" and normally we would lock such a thread.

But we feel happy about the encouragement that Dj Grobe got from other forum members here. Thanks.
Again and again :), it is up to you to that the forum is being found to be a pleasant place.

Kind Regards
/Alex

Grobe kicks major ass...
This project is frickin cool, anyways, since i`m not djing with ableton its not an option for me...
BUT if there is a possibility in the future to make that one modular (make your own layout of faders, pots etc.) AND re-scaleable this is an SO cheap ass powerful option.

So, what the hell?

I noticed that style_riser only has two posts here. Someone feeling a bit silly?

Anyway, I think grobes project is excellent! I hope he's successful in making it crossplatform too, so I could take advantage of that.
...and even though it's mono touch, I'd still think it'd be worth the 35 bucks it used to be priced at. I've seen entirely useless things (screensavers anyone?) that cost more money than that.

Good job grobe!

Im not sure I understand. So you have used one but there are some problems with them when used with your software? As cheap as I can get it done would be the way to go for me. I do not have $500+ to spend on a screen.
