session view automation problems

ok guys and girls. ... in session view record midi . from the instrument rack found a nice sound,. and it gets better if y play with the knobs. arm the track.... and after recording try to record motion.(for example).so far so good. it plays back what i recorded. but when y try to record another automation.the first one is gone. ohw there it is. in the arrangement view. but y want it only in the session view..and the next problem. is when i record some other chords in the seccond clip.and y can't figure out how to copy al the automated things to the other clip.. how do y do those things. thank'sssssss

i don't think it'spossible to record automation in session view. But once you have the automation in arrangement view, you can either right click and copy the envelope and paste it on another clip either in the arrange view or the session view. You might have to unlink the envelope on session view and select an appropriate length to allow the envelope to span to whatever length your recorded clip was when it was recorded in the arrangement. Or you could consolidate the clip in the arrangement view, bring it back to session and copy the envelopes with the above method back to session.
I hope it makes sense, Live needs some better automation handling, for sure!
