How Does Daft Punk Make their Vocal Effects.
How Does Daft Punk Make their Vocal Effects.
I believe they use a harmonizer hooked up to a midi controller. If this is the case. I would like it if someone could tell me how they use it. I make electronic Music like the rest of you, and I really want to take my vocals to the next level. I have the Following in my studio....
Andromeda A6, Virus TI, Korg Radias, MicroKORG, 303 Clone (Freebass 383), Motif Rack ES, Digitech Vocalise Harmonizer, Lexicon 200 Digital Delay, Korg legacy collection VST's with included MS-20 Controller, Mini Monsta VST, Sample Tank 2.0 VST, VIRUS TI VST to control the virus through Ableton, REASON 3.0 Rewired Through Ableton, Drummer VST with PADKONTROL from Korg, OPERATOR, SAMPLER, SIMPLER, IMPULSE, Traveler Firewire Soundcard, Midisport 8X8 Midid to USB Converter, two Tech 1200 MKII's with a Rane BAttle Mixer, an Electric Kazoo and 4 Circuit Bent Instruments. Soon Enough I'll have a Focusrite 8 (RED), and a Tube Compressor to make it nice and creamy...... Midi Controllers UC33 and a Keystation 88 for ultimate Knob and Slider Handling. Please let me know cuz I'm dying to do stuff like Daft Punk and Imogen Heap with my Vocals!

Surely amongst all that theres a preset you could usezaphyman1 wrote:I believe they use a harmonizer hooked up to a midi controller. If this is the case. No preset that works :P
I dunno how to use it if there is one.... I've read the manual on the Harmonizer, and I've played a Note on the midi controller and I've sang a note, and it doesn't harmonize correctly.... It doesn't pitch correct at all like it does in Daft Punks Set..... Any ideas?
Re: How Does Daft Punk Make their Vocal Effects.
i am positive that u have all u need to rock as daft punk... gear list is pretty pretty. i dont know how they do theirs vocals, tho, but i think u can do something similar with ur korg radias vocoder. if not the same, something as cool for sure. good luckzaphyman1 wrote: I make electronic Music like the rest of you, and I really want to take my vocals to the next level. The ONE MORE TIME Vocal EFFECT
The Radias is new to the Set, so I'll have to read the manual a little more before I'm comfy.... I'm trying to pitch correct my Voice so that My Voice Digitally Pitch Corrects up to the next note or down to the lower note no matter what the Note is and in what octave.... Like what there voices do in "ONE MORE TIME".... That effect..... -Cameron
Vocoder or Harmonizer?
I wasn''t sure if it was a Harmonizer or Vocoder at first, but I'm pretty sure its a Harmonizer. A Vocoder splits your Voice up into bands fused with a sythethesizer that is then carried to the speakers and triggered by a carrier signal Usually a Drum track, where as a harmonizer transposes your voice in real time, but there has to be a preset that does what I'm wanting it to do...... I'm sure that if I buy an Eventide Harmonizer it will have that preset, but I want to know if I can do it on the rig I have now. (Digitech Vocalise)

Maybe Vocoded...
Heres an interview I had found....
The individual moods of the songs vary as well. “One More Time” is a perky party tune featuring Vocoded male vocals from Romanthony. “Superheroes” sounds like a house variation on classic “Tangerine Dream,” featuring a dreamy montage of looped vocals. On the mellower side, “Something About Us” explores a languid jazz/R&B vibe, while the interlude “Nightvision” offers a tranquil ambient experience enhanced by the gentle heartbeat rhythm of a muted kick drum. Ultimately, each composition is a world of its own.

Heres the Answer!
I love answering my own Questions! As written below....
We use mainly vintage synthesizers, like older electric pianos like the Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavinet. We didn't use the Clavinet on Discovery, but I usually use it in my studio.” Effects units the duo used include a DP-4 and an Eventide Ultra-Harmonizer.
Its an Eventide ultra-harmonizer...... Pricy but worth it!
