Loss of BCR2000 when used through USB connection
Hi everybody,
I got a problem when using my BCR2000 with a USB link.
Very often, the link is cut after a while: the MIDI data are not received anymore by LIVE and it is not possible to reactivate the BCR2000 link through LIVE's preferences.
The only way to recover the link is to shut down the computer (only re-starting the BCR is not sufficient).
No issue when I use my MIDI interface to plug the BCR on the computer (except the fact that the buttons feedback does not work... but it is another issue...)
My setup: Toshiba P10,and one UC33 already linked through USB (no issue with the USB)+external Firewire Hard drive.
Did anyone have the same issue?
Matheo

do you use it with the regular USB cable or do you use an extension cable?
it seems that since i don't use my extension cable, the problem doesn't occur anymore. but the strange thing is that when using the extension cable, the contact loss was only 1 way (the BCR still received messages from Live). maybe that's a behringer issue (maybe it's actualy not an issue since this is not regular use).

I just posted this elsewhere , but I think it'll help, so here it is again

First thing to make sure is in Windows..it may be nothing to do with a faulty BCR....Windows XP is setup to switch off the power to USB ports when not in use ! I had huge problems with my CME controller keyboard (and I am not the only one....)...It would stop responding...
Anyway,
In XP, go to control panel, then system, then there's a tab after Computer Name (I use a french version of XP so I don't know what the tab is called in English..in french it's Material)...anyway its hardware, (it's the third tab)...inside this you'll see a tab for a list of your peripherals....go in here, and select the USB bus controllers, and inside this there'll be entries for each USB port....go in, and the last tab is for USB power....unclick 'allow windows to switch off device to save power' ...do this for each port.....then restart......
it might sound complicated but it's not at all...
should work...
hope it helps...It worked perfectly for me...now my BCR and CME are always recognized....
