Recording MIDI automation in session view

Post by nuterson » Sat May 26, 2007 2:44 pm

Hi!

Is it possible to record midi automation from my midi controller to a clip in a session view? When I'm trying to do that, the only thing that is recorder are the notes, but the singals from the knobs are not recorded into envelope section to the clip. Is it possible to do that?

Also, is it possible to record notes and then record automation to the clip (separatelly)? I got only two hands and sometimes (well, almost always) I want to controll more than one parametter of my synth, but I can't do that because I have to play with one hand, and cotrol knob with other hand (wich makes only one knob possible to be controlled).

I know those are probably very lame questions, but I just started to focus on that point and can't find the answer over the internet or in the manual.

Thanks!

hmmm, it seems like it's impossible. But anyway, even if I record an automation in arrangment view (it works) and then try to take a look at it in envelope view, i see no changes in the envelope draving line, but i can hear changes i've recorded. it looks like it's not recorded, but i can hear it. strange. any ideas?

Hi,

If you can hear the changes of parameters, it means it is recorded. Go to the arrangement view, and in one of the automation choosers, select 'show only automated parameters'. That will help you finding which parameter is automated.
