Only 5000$-10000$

I guess at that price, its fair to use the word "magic" in your advertising.

In 2 weeks we'll know if the iphone remains the only Apple touch device..
And what those "secret" features in leopard are..

The lemur is still a "cheaper solution" ;)

In 2 weeks? Is there some kind of Steve-World coming up? Only ask because I'm keen to upgrade both lap/desktop to UB models soon but want more for my money than at present.

This is exactly what this is all about. At this price they will never have to make one, but now they get to say Apple follows them.

WWDC 2007
Apple's annual developer's conference runs between June 11th and June 15th this year, and kicks off with the traditional Steve Jobs keynote speech on Monday, June 11th. Rumors are swirling, but the release of new MacBook Pros appears to be most likely based on available current information.

It's sure a revolutionary way to go, using much of the technology that's here today without reinventing the wheel. Good move I think it will take time to make its way. Nothing that's going to make my world upside down in the near term. I'd love to have one when it'll be mass market.

Interesting to see whether or not Apple decide to leverage the patents it has on technology like this...
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

It doesn't have the patents to the touch technology used on this. It has some software patents that may or may not apply - but MS has more software patents that it doesn't enforce over Apple.

If MS had made a tablet like this that would be news, this is simply trying to get something in the news before Apple. They are the opposite of Apple in this respect, SJ loves his moment of fame and the drama all around the whole '...and one more thing'. MS know this and are just getting in a little early with a concept product.

A little OT but I'm quite excited about the upcoming WWDC. We heard no Mac news at MWSF, so now we are waiting on the big news. We know it isn't a Leopard release thanks to iPhone demands, so what do we get... Multitouch screens? :) on iMac mmmn. I'd happily turn up at a gig with a multitouch iMac. It would be like a 24" Lemur!!

9 out of 10 patents probably never see the light of day. But they got some cool ones going. Basically the Jeff Hann stuff with an osx twist. Most likely refined for graphical artists to use with photoshop and apple's animation stuff.

Anyways, can I just say that I love the idea? I know it's MS and they'll probably manage to fuck it up in or more ways that I won't like, but I feel that this is a great idea for how computers should work in the future..

This is either the same device that was demonstrated at the TED meeting a year or so back, there was a youtube video, or based on it.

True about the patent MAD... but look at this:

I'm quite sure I saw that resizing thing they do with the photos in an Apple patent on Ars Technica a year or so before the iPhone was released...

kind of like referring to the machinedrum's inconsistent timing slop as "magic" - as the ceo of elektron has called it, after being pressed hard about it. its intentionally inconsistent, aka "magic" !!!
