akai mpd24 issues

Post by ethan » Wed May 30, 2007 9:10 am

so maybe I'm just retarded but yeah, I feel like ripping my hair out.

I followed these instructions here.

http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ight=mpd24

I was able to get all the faders and knobs working at one point but once I went in to try and get some pad action everything went to hell and now I'm totally lost. I can't even get it back to when I had the knobs and faders working. I've been messing around and sometimes I can get a few things to work but I can't seem to get all (or even most) of the faders/pads/knobs working.

so by following the instructions for the topic above you should have this right?
# Config File for User-defined Instant Mappings

# We assume that the controls on your MIDI controller
# send CCs. All controls, except the sliders for volume
# and the encoders for device parameters, are expected
# to use the global channel. CCs are counted from 0-127
# and channels from 0-15.

[Globals]
# The channel that the controller should send on
GlobalChannel: 0
# If your controller is connected via USB, replace ControllerName
# with the name of the respective port. Live will then try to
# recognize the ports for you when you select your Instant-Mappings
InputName: ControllerName
OutputName: ControllerName

[DeviceControls]
# The Encoders will control the device parameters (you can also
# use knobs or sliders). Replace the -1's with the CCs sent by
# the respective controls on your controller. You can also set
# the channel for each controller if it differs from the global
# channel (if you leave the channel of an encoder at -1, Live
# will assume that the encoder uses the global channel).

I was hoping maybe one of you could copy paste your userconfiguration and I could see if it works for me. or would that not work? fuck I am totally out of ideas. could this be a problem with settings on my akai. its pretty new to me so there could be something I'm missing. maybe settings in live? I have two shows next week and I was stoked to use my new toy.

also today is my birthday. please make my birthday wish come true and help me.

thanks. sorry for the rant.
