recordings warping... HELP!

Post by gnomestar » Sat May 26, 2007 5:00 pm

everytime i record soemthing in ableton the audio is warped, it is ableton that is the problem i tested it, i found that even if i just record the metronome on live and then play it back with metronome going the 2 don't stay in sync and one is faster than the other

it makes it hard to record vocals over guitar etc. because i sing in time but the audio goes all over the place, anyone know whats going wrong?

It's hard for me to imagine a new recording going out of time with the metronome, because in my experience it is impossible to get Live to not warp a new recording.

So my best guess is that you are not making perfect length recordings of the metronome. You should use the global quantize setting to help you get evenly timed clips. Try '1 bar'

You're not messing with the tempo are you? Although I can't really see that making any difference if the new clips are warped, which they ought to be by default.
