There is probably a completely straight forward answer to this question, but I just can't figure it out...
When I load a sample in sampler and then trigger it with my midi keyboard, higher pitch keys not only are a higher pitch playback, but also a higher tempo, and vice versa with lower keys. I would like to be able to play chords with a vocal sample, but can't figure out the setting [default I think] which is timeshifting with different keys. Any ideas?
Thanks

Its actually possible to do some reasonably good time streching using only sampler but its not as easy as pressing the time machine button in Kontakt.
Briefly, here is how i do it.
1. Load a loop
2. set the sample start and end to taste.
3. Turn on the forward loop mode and select the link function.
4. Now adjust the loop brace to loop the very begining of the sample. Make the loop size as small as possile to start, and crossfade a little.
5. Now we modulate. On the modulation tab go to lfo 2 or 3 and select an up ramp wave.
6. set the lfo to sync to tempo and select the desired length of your loop (up to 8 bars)
7. Assign the lfo to modulate the loop start and set the amount to 100%.
8. Make sure the lfo is set to retrigger.
9. now hit a key and the loop should play in sync across the entire keyboard range.
10. If it sounds too grainy or harsh, adjust the loop size. and add more crossfading.
Note: if your loop is longer than 8 bars (say 16 or 32), you can reduce the lfo amount to 50% or 25% respectively and it will loop in sync.
Hope that helps...
