Powercore and live_6

Post by blank » Wed Nov 15, 2006 3:08 pm

Since live 6 is out, I can use my tc electronic pluggins into live session without cpu spike and ect...

This is awesome :)

But I still have 2 little probs and before adressing ableton support team an email, I wish to check if it could comes from my setup.

here we go..

-Freezing a track with poco plugins in lead to the blue screen of death each time

- when I switch the plugin preset while live is running, it leads to the same.

My powercores are both firewire powered. I'm on xp sp2 ( well tweaked), athlon x2 4200, mobo is asus a8n-e

maybe, it could be my firewire card too, I think she's a bit cheap.

thx

Hi blank,

first of all, did you update the TC PowerCore to the newest version? If not, maybe this could fix the crash.

If not, take a deep look onto the blue screen. Most probably Windows shows the drivers name, which caused the crash. Search for a filename there ending with a ".sys" or ".dll" or something similar and post it here. I hope i can help you then.

best regards

Henrik

powercore problems

Post by audax303 » Wed May 23, 2007 7:14 pm

Hi,

I'm having the same problems with the powercore : bsod when freezing a track with powercore plugins on it.
In the blue screen message which I got , the pcore.sys was mentioned.
Which I guess is part of the powercore compact suite.
I'm using the latest powercore drivers and using ableton 6.0.7

Thanks for any help,

Maikel

It's an irq conflict causing that

now it runs nearly fine since i've changed my firewire card and updated my beos

no more bsod but on track freeze my powercore kicks off and I have to restart it.

anyway

It's better

Hi,

What kind of firewire card do you use ?
I have a laptop and am currently using my internal firewire connection.

Thanks,

Maikel

device still kicking off on freeze

I already had that patch but didn't know for the registry tweak.

So it still crash but setting the sidspeed at 2 ( s400) improved my performances a bit

Kind of great news even if my poco still not working properly in live

thx for pointing this out
