audio conflict with EDIROL UA 101 and live and reaktor

hi

in a dell inspiron 8600 with an edirol UA 101 i open reaktor and when i open live, live won't recognise the edirol "error opening device"

then, when i open live first it DOES recognise the edirol, but then reaktor does not

all programs and files are running at the same sample rate.

what to do? sometimes it will even crash live when i try to have the edirol on both apps, regardless of in what order i open them.

The Edirol doesn't have multiclient ASIO drivers. Use Reaktor as a plugin in Live instead of trying to run it as a standalone alongside Live and you won't have the problem.

ok but then when i open the application as a plug-in i lose osc connectivity.

my friend is helping me out building an osc to midi converter that can hopefully make both applications run standalone (no plugin). this way i can use live to record automation signals of things i am doing in reaktor, opening midi clips to do this.

reaktor would then receive osc from the outside world and midi to and from live.

but what about the audio communication between apps when both are standalone?

Now that's an interesting idea... I can see where you're going.
You could do it one of three ways;

1) use an interface with multiclient ASIO drivers. The NI interfaces (AK 1, KORE and RK2) are examples of multiclient drivers.

2) use an interface that allows multiple cards of the same manufacturer to share the same driver. Terratec interfaces (the Phase series, for example) are an example of multiple cards that can share the same drivers.

3) use multiple interfaces with an aggregate driver that'll combine all your interfaces, such as the ones this company makes;
