Automapping Novation SL Zero with Ableton

Can anyone help, i'm having trouble setting up my new Novation SL with Ableton. I have followed the instructions on how to set it up and it appears as though the automap has worked (the LED s display each parameter etc) but when I try to use any of the knobs or sliders it does't do anything.

Any ideas?

Have you set the knobs and sliders to do things in MIDI mapping? I had a similar problem when I first got a MIDI keyboard. I couldn't get any of the knobs to do anything. The box for the keyboard said plug and play!
I felt rather silly when a friend explained what I'd not done.

I mapped a couple of filter variables to some knobs and proceded to annoy the hell out of everyone for weeks after.

Sorted. It turns out I the firmware version that is shipped with the controllers requires updating to run with ableton.
