When attempting to slave my TR-909 to Live's clock I run into a strange problem. The 909 receives start/stop from Live, but does not play in tempo at all. By not in tempo I mean over half as slow as the tempo setting within Live. The 909 has no problems slaving to other hardware devices, and also slaves well to Logic.
I have tried to go around the problem by instead slaving Live to the 909, but here Live stutters often trying to interpret the tempo. I also believe there may be a latency issue as well as I find it hard to get audio loops to play in time with the 909 for the 1-2 bars that Live runs stutter free. I have tried adjusting latency settings to compensate for the problem, but have had no success doing so.
The system I am running is:
Dell PIII 700 MHz w/ 128 MB RAM (soon to be upgraded to 512)
Lexicon Core2 Audio Interface
SBLive Value for MIDI I/O
Live 1.5.2
Is this a problem that a different MIDI interface will solve? It just seems strange that the 909 slaves to Logic but not Live. Also this seems strange as I have read that other users are not having this problem with their 909s. Perhaps someone with a similar setup can comment.
Any help or suggestions on solving this problem are welcome.

Thanks Lasers.
I discovered earlier today that if I enable the low latency setting on my Core2, all problems disappear. While this creates click and pop disasters within Logic, it seems to work with Live, so for now I will be happy until my RAM upgrade arrives. I am now achieving proper sync when slaving my 909 to Live. Loops are also playing in time.
I still have a hard time getting Live to slave to the 909, but I'm getting better results than I had previously. Perhaps a new MIDI interface will eliminate the remnants of my problems. Any suggestions on MIDI interfaces that are working w/ setups similar to mine listed above? I know Ableton seems to swear by the Midiman MidiSport line, but maybe someone else knows of one which also works.

BTW I'm running Win98, I noticed that I left that out in my initial post.
