Automation Problem - Help

Post by QuantumFizz » Sat Jun 16, 2007 5:38 pm

hey, I've been using Ableton for a few years, this tiny problem manages to constantly elude me. When I'm working in arrangement view on dj type mixes adjusting envelopes, the entire envelop will gray out and be negated (as in, doesn't do anything). On the track indicator there's a white dot which I guess indicates that the envelope isn't active at all. How can I re-enable it or prevent this from happening?

Thanks pals

This happens where you try to change parameters on devices directly that have automation already set up. To get back to normal, hit the "return to automation" key at the top of the screen(it will be red).

For a complete explanation look in the manual for "return to arrangement". I also have a section in my "Mixing in Arrangement View" guide at www.vinkalmann.com
