see this is where I'm not sure about all this PCs are cheaper - yeah bang for buck blah blah, but e-macs are dirt cheap - probably the same as 1000euro, i-macs are quite cheap too, and I'm sure you'd be able to do plenty with them.aljen wrote:The question is not "are Macs expensive" - the question ist "are PCs extremely cheap". Of course one can go out and buy a 1000 euro PC with everything you need. You can even obtain one at the ALDI supermarket in the downtown.
So this is cleared. You cannot buy a desktop Mac for 1000 Euro in the supermarket.

Here we are comparing oranges and lemons yet again, the architecture is completely different and so they do different things differently, and one thing people who have been mentioning sluggish macs have neglected to mention is that on a mac if you're playing audio and it gets sluggish, the audio wont drop out, it's things like redraws and gui which suffer - because it's doing everything it can to make sure the audio is given priority. If a PC get's overloaded the first thing to go is the sound. Sure it's longer before it get's overloaded. but the architecture on mac is better for audio
macs are cool. PCs are gutsy - but boasting about them is like looking at everyone elses knobs in the showers to see if yours is bigger and really is pretty pathetic
