newbie needs help

dear abletoner,
can somebody help me? i've got - i think a simple - problem: on definition of the audiopreferences, ther is a button for the test-tone. i have defined outputs, but there is no sound. does anybody have an answer?

The test tone is just used to see how glitchy the sound will be when the CPU is driven high. Have you tried getting audio in any other way? If you're unsure about getting MIDI tracks to play just drag and drop an mp3 file on to an audio track (or anywhere in the empty session view screen for that matter) and play the clip that is generated after it encodes it. Does that give you any audio?
