Stretchy / Distorted sound when tracks tempo increased....

Post by jrd » Thu Jun 21, 2007 1:15 pm

I was wondering how to turn off pitch lock to stop the horrible stretchy sound you get when a track has been warped and played at a higher/lower bpm???

It's probably really obvious but I can't see anything.

Thanks

If I understand you correctly, the sound you're referring to IS warping... Or at least 'beats mode'... have you tried any of the other? I tend to prefer 'tones'.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

Use re-pitch if you want to hear no artifacts. Of course the track will be pitched up or down.

Complex mode is your best bet if you want to keep the key the same when straying from the tracks' native tempos.

Note that the further you move from the tracks original tempo, the more artifacts you will here. This is true for all warp modes.

I have a warping guide at www.vinkalmann.com in the tutorials section if you're interested.
