request: don't release live 7 this summer
please fix the problems in live 6 first
Please release it. I, on the other hand, am perfectly satisfied with Live 6 in my workflow and all I need are new workflow improvements like ie. track folders.
Juhana Lehtiniemi - Film composer with Ableton Live
If you go by that, then microsoft should have never relased anything pass windows 3.1.
Live is a open architecture type of software, there is no way Ableton can support 100% of all the VSTi,MIDI,ect on the market. The core application works pretty damn good, and gets better with every release
Reason on the other hand, doesn't allow hardly any external software to mess with the program. In this case they have a super stable program.
Ableton does need to add more features with the new releases. Live 6 could almost be consider v5.5.

I don't think anyone is talking about the support of 3rd party plugins..djamp42 wrote:Live is a open architecture type of software, there is no way Ableton can support 100% of all the VSTi,MIDI,ect on the market. The core application works pretty damn good, and gets better with every release

That would be a dissapointment..Brainstormer wrote:I'm guessing they'll wait until Leopard is released first, then have full 64 bit integration.
It seems the big upgrades deal with more what's under the hood than the add-ons, ie. dual core support, etc.
Hey Ableton, what did you do all year?
- Ehm, we waited for leopard, what else? Live needs more bling

Leopard due in Oct. - not too long now.esky wrote:the Apple market is to small, so they won`t wait for an update that seems to never arrive...
But that's certainly a good point raised, so I've done a poll to see what machines people are using for Ableton.

i don't know a single professional band that uses pcs in a live setting (i.e. on stage). every time i've seen someone with computer or read an interview, their rig is always osx. yeah, maybe the apple market is small, but the people using this software for professional reasons are using macs. granted, they're probably using a daw with time signature automation and group tracks like logic, but still.esky wrote:They will announce the update in late summer, it will come out in september or october. I don't care about Live 7 right now...
I WANT THE MIDI TIMING FIXED. PLEASE!!!
Good god, it's 2007, and we shouldn't be putting up with this sort of trouble in an application like Live.
(Although as my track counts go up I've noticed the slow scrolling in the arrange view more and more often and it's SOUL DESTROYING.)

I'd love to see the version perfected too... (6.0.1,000,000)
Me I'm not too concerned about more more more all the time, I'm good with it right now. Put my requests for the next version (whenever no hurry) on the forum and I'm assuming ableton are dealing with any bugs which have not been fixed yet, as users continue reporting (OSX Rewire when can I use this properly ??? Return to default is this fixable??? Bothered ???)
So I agree but I'm hoping ableton are on the case (Personally I just can't be bothered testing/reporting anymore...thats the attitude I know...blah)
Im not angry btw hope you get that.

MacBook MacOS Live 9.7.1 Max for Live Push Logic
@ snowtires...
Yeah you`re right, i can only think of Kraftwerk who use 4 Vaio notebooks on stage, seems that a lot of pros use mac`s. OSX has a better image concerning ease of use, which i think is not the case. Anyway, the Abe´s won`t wait for Leopard, Apples policy concernng release dates is too unpredictable...
