mackie control universal verses novation remote sl
mackie control universal verses novation remote sl
Right now I have remote zero sl and I'm wondering if people who have tried both, think Mackie control is much of an improvement. Does the mackie automap plugins real good. I like the remote zero as far as automapping but the faders and knobs aren't really that great.

Mackie doesn't automap too well IMO, maybe in Logic, but Live it's just so so. only eight knobs that automap, and it's a different protocal than automap from what I know?chaibuka wrote:Right now I have remote zero sl and I'm wondering if people who have tried both, think Mackie control is much of an improvement. If you are looking for motorized faders the makie can't be beat.
If you can,, Get both,,
I'm running a Logic Control with the MU update next to a Korg K49,,
I use the mackie/LC as a control surface and the K49 for my plugin and synth control.
I'ma-kind-sorta thinking about flicking the K49 for the R SL,,,

The MCU has a bad automapping fuctionality. It set the standard from which we all are suffering from until today: stupidly eight plugin parameters are mapped to the controller. No possibility for the user, to define the order. This means each plugin has it'S own parameter layout and this makes plugin editing via controllers an absolutely NO!
Don't know, if the Novation concept really works, but it is definately necessary to make the parameter sequence user defineable, that plugin-editing via controllers makes any sense.
On the other hand, the novation controllers seem to be not the first choice, when it comes to mixing.
If you only want mixing-functionality and if you can adapt to rotary knobs, i'd recommend to get a BCR2k and use it as MCU.
