Sound waves not visible?

Post by LuisParcel » Sat Jun 23, 2007 7:03 pm

This happens often, I can't warp the song because the waves don't show, and I never figured out why, especially on some of my fav's. Has anyone ever had this problem? Is there a solution?

Are you saying that the sample analysis never finishes?

Well as you can see in the picture, there is nothing there :(

I don't understand why, it's only with some songs just got 2 like that today. I just can't warp it without the waves being visible...

Hi,

In the screenshot you send, you can see an indication 'Sample Analysis in progress'. It means that Live analyzes the tune for auto-warping. If you wait a little, you will see the waveform appearing, and you'll be able to work on the warping by hand.

If you turn OFF 'auto warp long samples' in the Preferences, Record/Warp/Launch tab, you should not see this 'Sample Analysis in Prgress' anymore.

Usually the waveforms are visible while the analysis is progressing.

Here is a screen shot of a sample after the analysis is complete, but with the same problem of the waveforms not being visible.

Thanks for the help in advanced.

Hi,

Are you sure the sample contains any sound? If so, you should get in contact with [email protected], providing the info asked for on that page:

This issue happens on occassion with VBR Mp3s, though I thought the issue was fixed a while ago.

Try converting the MP3 to WAV and then bring it in. You can also try running the MP3 through a MP3 encoder and "re-encode" the MP3 again at a constant bit rate. Works every time!
