macro controls jump to zero

Post by josvangemert » Mon Jun 25, 2007 7:26 pm

Hi,

I am experimenting with the demo version of live 6 (I own 5.2 and want to try out 6 before buying).

When constructing an instrument-rack and assigning parameters to macros's, the parameters in the instrument jump to zero, and also the macrovalues are zero, so the preset changes!
When scrolling through the presets of the instrument the macro controllers do not take over the values of the assigned presets parameters.

Questions:
Am I doing something wrong ?
Is this only so in the demo version of live6 ?

Greetings, Jos

This is a frustrating fact of racks, as soon as you assing a function to a rack knob, it goes to zero. I hate that too, +1 for changing it. In the meantime, just take a second to remember what the value was before you assign the knob, that's what I do.

Too bad...............

I was planning to make a rack for every VST I use and assign the macrocontrollers to midi-cc's for easy manipulating the most important parameters of the instrument. When using the rack I would change to the instrument preset to use for the track the rack is used on. But if the macrocontrols do not follow the values of the chosen presets it is nu use for me.
