Since some of the posts here have got a bit aggressive, I do want to reiterate something I said in the 'MIDI delay recording' thread: I think 99% of Live is GREAT.
And my criticisms aren't a personal slight against any of the Ableton staff. I appreciate Amaury's willingness to debate the issue, even though I often find his comments head-bangingly incorrect!
I moved to Live after Logic 5.5.1 and it was a breath of fresh air: lovely GUI, creative workflow, cross-platform, good effects, generally without any of the critical bugs that made Logic a debacle on the PC after Apple stopped updating it.
But for MIDI timing...sheesh...Cubasis under Windows 3.1 was better!
I can totally understand how for many users the MIDI delay would be no issue at all. But surely anyone making music on a computer can see that it should be OPTIONAL.
