Missing and corrupt files!
Missing and corrupt files!
Help, i purchased live 5 last year all was good love the product, then i upgraded to version6 and lost 69 files, i managed to find most but i'm still missing 8 files, i've tried everything!
Now i've just updated to version6.7 and i've lost 8 files again its saying the files are corrupt but they work fine in version 6, AAAHHHH HELP PLEASE SOMEONE!?
Where do these files go? I've tried ableton but without my logtxt file they've been no use, i also can't find that! All help would be greatly appreciated. Peace to all ableton users.

So, you've tried to contact support, but abandonned because you could not find the log.txt file? This file should be located here:
* Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Ableton\Live x.xx\Preferences
* Mac OS X: /Library/Preferences/Ableton
On PC, the Documents and settings folder is hidden by default. So if you can't see it, you should do the following:
1. Launch Explorer.
2. Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3. Check "Show hidden files and folders."

We have no support for the moment in Australia, but since all happens online or over the phone it should not be too much of a problem.
In the Tools menu, there is an entry called 'Folder Options'. Choose it, and a window will open. There, on the top, see a 'View' tab. Click it. In there, you'll find the 'Hidden Files and Folders' entry.

If so all i have in there is, delete browser history, pop up blocker, phishing kilter, manage add ons, then in a lighter colour i have, subscribe to this feed, feed discovery, then back to normal for, windows update, windows messenger, diagnose connection problems, trend micro sercurity services, sun java console and internet options! so am i looking in the right place, or am i just extremley simple! ahhhh.

hi,
are you sure that you're not trying the above in 'Internet Explorer'.
i'm on OSX, but isn't 'explorer' a part of the operating system? i'm pretty sure you need 'windows explorer'...
iirc from the company pc, i think it's in accesories or something alike.

Indeed, what you describe here is Internet Explorer. I'm talking about Windows explorer, which you can access from the Start Menu somewhere (even by opening 'My Computer', or by using the 'windows' key and the 'E' key, on the kwyboard.
There, you'll see another Tools menu.
