multiple audio outs for VST instruments like kontakt

Post by max123456 » Fri Jun 25, 2004 12:29 pm

i hope you will make it possible for kontakt owners (and any other multitimbral vsti) to have the possibility of a separate audio out for each stacked instrument. so in one instance of kontakt i could use up to 16 instruments and have each instrument routed to a different midi track in the live sequencer. as far as i know in software like acid for example it doesnt work but in cubase for example it does.

important indeed. iknow that even fl studio can do this; so please ableton include this feature and dont have us deal with a scaled down vsti implementation like in acid.

Multiple outs

It already works in Live beta4.

You have to do the following:

Create Midi Track and insert your sampler/synth module.
I f.e. use Halion.

Then select an audio track and choose 'audio from'.
There is your 'midi' track listed. If you have typed in a name for your midi track (where halion resides), the name will show up in the menu.

Now a menu appears underneath the 'audio from' menu. There are your other outputs to choose from.

You can now even record your single outs to harddisk, no more freeze blabla. The first two outs can just be recorded to disk when you select 'audio to' and choose another audiotrack. So you can record ALL of your outs in one go to your harddrive.

Innit a great piece of software :-)) :-)

Hope this helps

Claude
