Would you like to see Ableton develop a high-end drum synth/sampler/sequencer?

Definitely! I'd pay extra for it.

Yes, but it should be a built-in feature in Live.

Don't bother. Impulse gets the job done.

No, I already use something else.

IMPACT! A new drum synth/sampler/sequencer from Ableton?

Post by 9pod9 » Fri Jun 29, 2007 6:59 pm

In response to a flaw pointed out by nagal, I'm reposting this poll with another option added. Sorry for the redundancy, folks.

Are you frustrated with the limitations of Impulse? Would you like to see Ableton develop a high-end drum module that would be to Impulse what Sampler is to Simpler?

At least one other member of these boards had the same idea for a name: Impact.

Would it be useful to you?

You forgot to add an option if it would be ANOTHER plug in to replace Impulse or similar to the Simpler/Sampler relationship.

I would like to see that. But most importantly, better drum samples, so I don't have to buy battery :P

Whether Impact would replace Impulse is irrelevant. The question is whether users would like Ableton to develop such a thing and whether they'd be willing to buy it separately.

I'd rather they spend the money on improvements to make Live a more full fledged DAW.

wow you redid the poll just for me. :)

I have Battery 3 and the more I use it the more I love it!

With that said, if they were to release a new instrument it really needs to be free.

I aims to please, my friend.

It's not like I *WANT* to pay extra, but given the precedent set by Operator and Sampler, it seems unrealistic to expect Ableton to come up with a high-quality drum module without it being a separate product. They'd certainly get a lot of love if it were free, but I just don't seem them getting motivated to create something like this without some extra bucks going their way, you know?
