Yes I tried, as stated a few posts above.
Anyway I've just tried again, with built-in audio only.
First time it was 5ms. I put this value into the preferences, then I loaded one of my projects and let it play.
I went back to the driver error compensation test and this time it's 26ms later (+5ms in the preferences).
Switching from core audio to no audio, then back to core audio fixes this (just for a bit).

You where right,
seems to be a driver but couldn't remember.
I'll come back on this once I have a Jack/jack cable.
Strange that the xone drifts on the Powerbook
and uses the same driver as the inbuilt.
And why are they all called core audio?

Yes that's strange, and I also found that the Powerbook built-in overall audio latency is 10ms less than the macbook pro.serotoninsteve wrote:Strange that the xone drifts on the Powerbook

I don't know, the two built-in audio devices are quite different: 16bit/44.1khz vs. 24bit/96khz, the latter also has digital in/out... maybe the driver behaves in a different way.
I find more reassuring the fact that the Xone 3D drifts on both laptops: at last there's evidence that I don't imagine things.
Think of "Core Audio" = "Asio"

Allen&Heath has confirmed the problem and they believe this is an issue with the Apple driver.
Serotoninsteve, you don't need to test
Thanks for the help!
A&H is recommended, great products and the best support !
Now let's see how long it takes Apple to fix this.
EDIT: on second thought, I don't think Ableton have been able to reproduce this.

tried upgradin to 10.4.10, still having the same problem... i mention this in the other post but ill say it here too, i ran live 6.0.7 on my old 2ghz celeron pc desktop i got in 04 and it runs perfectly, no more jumping compenstation values!! so this would definately appear to be a core audio problem.. ive been going thru the forums on apple.com but cant find any helpful or hopeful info yet.. lemme know if you find anything out!! thanks
