japanese / other traditional instruments
where do i get some taiko, woodblock, koto etc?
my keyboard has em but it sounds cheesy and unrealistic.
would really like many more instruments in the Instrument Rack.
(free stuff only please)

Re: japanese / other traditional instruments
Try the freesound project, there you will find most of what your looking for on there.yleh8k wrote:where do i get some taiko, woodblock, koto etc?

p.s, learn to use a search engine, thats why you got little response to your request, because it is easy to find what your looking for using a search engine.
ie Using google, enter the following: koto+wav+free or woodblock+wav+free or taiko+wav+free or japanese sounds+wav+free ect, ect, ect, ect, you get the picture

Seriously, go here:
http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/searchText.php
search for 'koto', download the wave files, put them in sampler (or any other freeware sampler if you don't have that... even impulse would work!!) and experiment. you might be surprised...

no worries - it took me about ten minutes to build a usable Koto preset in sampler outta the sounds from freesound. if theres anything else you need in particular post a request over in the freesound forum and with a little luck someone will record it for you.yleh8k wrote:alrighty..
