go for it,
its just GREAT -
if you can affoard, go for the 92,
i had the 62 first, then the 92 and i think it sounds even better.
it feels to me that it has some more punch and a kind of "clearer" sound.
i can`t tell you technically, just feels to me, as i had both for some months now, in the same room.
it`s 4band eq is phantastic, once you get used to it,
and the filters, (i mostly use them for eq-ing the bass out while mixing) the lfo is one thing i still have to get used to. - also,
i didn`t go for the midi-thing with ableton-live up to now,
i usually do either mixing on the xone, or live with my other setup
(see sig. ) but i certainly will try it soon.
if you are looking for a kaoss-pad, have a look at the new one,
Kaoss-pad mini -
i just got one, and i don`t miss much, the bigger ones can do....

why again is the DJM-800 the "standard club mixer"
IMO the 92 blows the 800 out of the water. and the Peeps talking about how they sound, makes me even more confused, pioneer advertising, Erick Morillo maybe?!?!!?? All of the DJ sponsoring they do?
I think the DJM 800 isn't that great
Are the pioneer's the standard in the UK too?!? Elsewhere?

I've used the Xone 464. Honestly, the 464 and the 62 are solid mixers, but you can't use two different types of filters independently; that is, both have to be HPF/BPF/LPF at the same time.
It's a limitation that frustrated me more than once.
However, having said that, I will only buy two brands of mixer in the future; A&H and Rane... I have a TTM-56 for turntablism, but for a club style mixer, it's A&H Xone 92 or 3D all the way...

Breqs - That Rane looks like what I need, any tips on something a little less expensive. I just ordered a monome and need to keep the rate of spending down. Looks like they're on ebay for just over $600.
I've been on a stanton RM3, it's cool, deep EQ cuts, hamster switch but the x-faders wear out.
I'm also thinking of selling my 1200 (keep the TTX, love that thing), no need for two decks when I have Live. Anyway, got me thinking...
Any tips on mixers appreciated, when I ask around here all I get is "you get what you pay for" I just don't follow the mixer market.
I love this one

Magnetic Fader Testing
The engineers at Rane employed a sewing machine to test the durability of the magnetic fader. Each stroke generated one count. We have it set to apply a million strokes to the fader every day. We tested 13 million strokes before we got tired of hearing the darn thing, and the fader shows absolutely no wear or degradation.

Yeah, for sheer durability (no frills, pays the bills) mixer, Rane is pretty much top of the heap.
Ecler, a company from Spain makes some good stuff too, but if you're in the US, Rane is a better go, since you don't pay customs on importing it.
Really, for turntablism, if you want a ROCK solid mixer, Rane's TTM-56 (or 57 for computer integration) is the best bet. Those magnetic faders can take a lickin'. I spilled coca-cola all over my mixer; I removed the face plate, hosed it down, dried it off, and re-assembled it with a little bit of chapstick on the fader rails, and it's as good as new.
If you like a stiff fader, then chapstick is a good lube, but if you like a really liquidy, clicky fader, then WD-40 is a good choice for fader lube.
A&H makes solid stuff too, but it's like comparing a mercedes-benz (the A&H) to a Rolls Royce (the Rane). One's luxury and quality, the other's LUXURY and QUALITY. The Penny & Giles Faders on the Xone 02 are nice (some people swear by them) but they're conductive plastic; eventually, they will wear. Maybe not this year, but if you're a scratch maniac, they'll need replacing SOMEDAY. I've had my TTM-56 for over 5 years, and my girlfriend is a turntablism junkie... She's probably clocked over 500 hours doing skribble scratches on that damn Rane, and there's no degradation of the sound yet.
For pure sound quality, Rane is 98% where Allen & Heath is 100%, so it's really a question of what you're looking for.
That's my $0.02 anyways.
If you go with an Ecler, check out the Hak 360, they have an infinite X-fader too, but you pay more cause they're European, and their channel faders are the normal type, prone to wear as well.
Best of luck with your mixer purchase!!! My advice: Get to a music store, try out a TTM-56 or TTM-57, and compare it to whatever else you can. If a mixer doesn't feel right to a turntablist, all the features / bells & whistles won't matter an inch.

By the way, since I'm leaving for out of the country for a year, I won't be using my TTM-56; When I get back, I'll be upgrading to a TTM-57. PM me if you're interested in a second hand mixer to keep costs down. The faders are all in perfect condition, but there are two issues with the mixer; the mount for the Headphone jack has a chip in it but works perfectly, and the Master/Cue button for the headphone monitor is sticky...

I have a 62, love it, no complaints. Once you use 4 band EQ, it's SOOO hard to go back to 3 band.
