Popping cutting out problem
On my MAC I dont have this issue....but with the studio PC, when I play a VST the audio pops and cuts out. I can see the output meters on the VST kinda freeze up for a quick second. CPU meter is barely at 10% when this problem happens. I am using a Digidesign Mbox as the output for sound. I can stop playing and Ableton will just sit there stuttering and popping and cutting out. Its annoying....and I hope someone has the answer. I am using Ableton Live 6.0.7. and a Digidesign Mbox in Windows XP (BLECH!)

Just for the heck of it....I switched over to the Sound Blaster in the computer from audio prefs in Ableton and the pops and stuff are gone. So its from the M-Box for sure....which has latest driver from Pro-Tools.

Have you tried to set the latency of the Mbox to some other value? And maybe check about compatibility between your PC and the Mbox on the Digidesign website. There is also something to check in your computer's system properties, about USB ports and the way they manage energy: it is possible in Windows XP to 'save' energy for USB device. That should be turned OFF for audio interfaces, of course.
